  • Overview

    The Solutions Engineering team reports to the Senior Director, Global Solutions Engineering and provides all pre-sales support for the Sales department in order to increase productivity and bookings growth. The Solutions Engineering team is typically engaged during the Qualify, Develop and Prove stages of an Opportunity. The Solutions Engineering team is responsible for all pre-sales activities both remote and onsite, to include in depth discoveries, software demonstrations, RFI\RFP assistance, technical support, architecture scoping and proof of concepts.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Support multiple strategic accounts requiring a more methodic level of pre-sales involvement
    • Provide technical guidance and support related to integration methodologies, web services and cloud security and infrastructure
    • Supporting of all RFI\RFP needs
    • Provide training on product platform and solutions
    • Execute the standard sales engineering process and playbook to support sales leaders on achieving growth goals
    • Execute critical proof of concepts and sales engineering process across key enterprise accounts
    • Execution of in-depth discoveries to document the pain points and needs of the account to ultimately determine what solutions would satisfy those needs
    • Create and deliver live demonstration of Omnitracs’ on premise and SaaS software and hardware solutions that meet the documented pain and needs of the account

     

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Business. Other concentrations with logistics and operations management are acceptable.  
    • EXPERIENCE: Looking for individuals with 10+ years of experience, 4 of which as a sales engineer. Experience areas of interest could be any of the following:
      • Applications consulting, integration or support
      • Transportation
      • Wholesale distribution
      • Logistics or supply chain
      • Mobile workforce management

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Advanced knowledge of Omnitracs products
    • Intermediate presentation skills
    • Intermediate technical proficiency
    • Intermediate understanding of value selling principles
    • Intermediate prioritization skills
    • Intermediate understanding of Omnitracs sales processes
    • Intermediate relationship management skills
    • Intermediate understanding of supply chain management
    • Intermediate knowledge of transportation and logistics industry
    • Intermediate knowledge of Omnitracs competitors
    • Intermediate project management skills
    • Intermediate proficiency with CRM tools
    • Ability to travel for demonstrations and presentations. Minimum 40% domestic travel, globally as required.

     

    DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Sales, consulting or support experience with the Big 5
    • MS degree in Business or Engineering from a reputable higher education institution
